IMO to set up manufacturing plant in South Carolina

German-owned IMO Group is to set up its first US manufacturing facility in Dorchester County, South Carolina.

The company, which makes slewing rings and slew drives used in wind turbines, will create 190 jobs as it sets up subsidiary IMO USA Corp.

IMO is putting in a $47 million investment into the 40,000 square foot plant at the McQueen Industrial Park. It will use the nearby Port of Charleston to ship out goods.
