Vest-Fiber is set to invest $2 million in a new manufacturing facility in Moberly, Randolph County, creating 50 new jobs in the process.
The new facility could be operational as early as February 2011.
Vest-Fiber has been producing fiberglass and materials for the composite industry since the turn of the Millennium, products that are mainly used to produce wind turbine blades.
It said the new site will provide good access to the US-based wind turbine manufacturing industry.
Hans Leerskov Hansen, Business Development Manager of Vest-Fiber, said: “In our search for the ideal location, we found Missouri to be the strategic center of all wind-related production facilities in the USA. We were also pleased to find the right skills and work ethic available.”
A $128,318 incentive package from the Missouri Quality Jobs program helped attract the company to the location in north-central Missouri.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon said the decision by Vest-Fiber was “excellent news” for the local economy.
Gov. Nixon said: “From day one as Governor, my administration has been focused on creating jobs and moving our economy forward, and I am pleased that we were able to provide the economic tools to help make this project possible. This significant investment by a European company is more clear evidence that Missouri’s economy is on the move.”
