GT Solar launches polysilicon reactor with boosted efficiency

New Hampshire solar manufacturing equipment provider GT Solar International has launched a new polysilicon production reactor, the SDR400.

The company said the new SDR400 produces more than 400 metric tons of polysilicon each year, around 33% more than previous reactors.

The new reactor also uses 20% less electricity than GT Solar’s previous reactor, the SDR300, the company said.
