US Geothermal receives permit for 8.6MW Nevada geothermal plant

US Geothermal has received a permit to develop its 8.6MW Phase 1 power plant at its San Emidio geothermal project in northern Nevada.

The company was granted a Special Use Permit by the Washoe County Planning Commission, it said today.

The permit allows for the existing power plant to be replaced with new systems, with work to begin during the third quarter of 2010.
