Community wind project completed in Woodstock, Minnesota

August 5, 2010

Wind developer Juhl Wind has completed a 750-kilowatt community wind project in its home town, Woodstock, Minnesota.

The $1.8 million Woodstock Municipal project uses a direct drive EWT wind turbine, with long-term financing provided by First Farmers bank of Pipestone, MN.

Power is being sold to Xcel Energy under a 20-year power purchase deal, and the project is expecting support from a federal grant.
