SunEdison teams up with DRI to build 19MW solar capacity

August 6, 2010
Solar energy services company SunEdison is to work with roofing and construction specialist DRI Energy to develop 19 megawatts of solar capacity in three states.

The two firms will work together on projects in California, Hawaii and Arizona, they announced yesterday.

SunEdison, a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials based in Beltsville, Maryland, will finance the solar deployment contracts under the new partnership.

It will also own, operate, monitor and maintain the facilities planned for commercial, government and utility clients.

The systems will be designed, engineered and constructed by DRI Energy, which is a subsidiary of California firm DRI Companies.

“Quality”

“SunEdison’s leadership position in the solar industry provides the experience and expertise customers require in today’s market,” said Steve Kelley, Executive Vice President at DRI Energy. “DRI looks forward to combining our outstanding execution capabilities with SunEdison’s financing excellence to provide the market with the highest quality of service.”

Jaime A. Smith, Vice President of North American Sales for SunEdison. “Together with DRI’s outstanding solar integration experience and SunEdison’s financing capabilities, we’ll deploy solar faster and more cost effectively for our customers.”

SunEdison and DRI Energy have already successfully deployed solar projects in California and have several others currently under construction.
