California Energy Commission awards $3.4m for vehicle charging stations

The California Energy Commission has awarded a $3.4 million grant to a $12 million project to install electric vehicle charging stations in three California metro regions.

Coulomb Technologies will provide its ChargePoint Networked Charging Stations for Los Angeles, Sacramento and the Bay Area.

The company is installing 4,600 public and private charging stations around America by October 2011 under its ChargePoint America program.
