UPS adds 200 hybrid electric trucks to Chicago fleet

Delivery firm UPS has expanded its fleet of alternative fuel vehicles with 20 hybrid-electric trucks on routes in the Chicago area.

With a Freightliner body and a hybrid power system from Eaton Corporation, the vehicles can save up to 35% of the fuel use of conventional trucks.

The company said it now has 50 hybrid electric vehicles operating in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Phoenix.
