The company announced today at the New York Solar Energy Industries Association Conference that it has acquired ISI Solar, which operates in the New York and New Jersey area.
The move is the second acquisition for Alteris in less than a year, after the firm snapped up Renewable Power Systems of Albany, New York, last June.
Founded in 1999, ISI Solar designs and installs solar power systems for both residential and commercial customers.
Alteris said its acquisition was another step in its “rapid” expansion in the New York and New Jersey markets.
Based in Wilton, Connecticut, the company now has offices in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Commenting on the acquisition of ISI Solar, Alteris’ President of the Solar Business Ron French said: “The solar markets in both New York and New Jersey are growing, and the need to provide quality-engineered solar energy solutions is more important than ever.
“By combining with ISI Solar and by expanding further into New York and New Jersey, Alteris will be able to make its affordable and reliable solar energy systems available to more customers.”
James Albert, President of ISI Solar, said: “Joining Alteris will help ISI offer our customers affordable renewable energy solutions. Homeowners and businesses will have access to a broader array of financing options and to greater technical resources. We are excited to be partnering with Alteris Renewables.”
Alteris Renewables said it has installed 3,000 systems offering 15MW of generating capacity during its 30-year history.
As well as solar power and solar hot water systems, the company offers mid-size wind turbines.
